New Features

This is the WEB-key 4.1 Initial Release.

Some of the key new features include:

  • This build supports VST 6.7, with its new device driver installation management
    features. These features include automatic fingerprint reader discovery and
    device driver installation through a driver download web site.

  • WEB-key Communications between the client and server are optimized to be
    more efficient.

  • WEB-key 4.0 and WEB-key 4.1 are compatible forward or backward between
    client and server.

  • Supported Windows operating systems are Windows 7 and Windows 10, as well as
    Windows Server 2012 R2 and greater, with WBF enabled.

  • Many other new or improved features, please see WEB-key Guides.

  • Stopped the creation of the 'legacy' Adapter VST DB as part of a fresh install. This VST DB is no
    longer used, and was unnecessary.

  • Created trigger in schema for Activity Log - Oracle. Enhances performance and transaction accuracy.

  • Other Oracle schema updates to better support Oracle 18/19 versions.

  • Added Linux server support for WEB-key Server and WEB-key Admin API's for Java.

  • Upgraded the embedded Java Version on Windows install to Java 1.8.0.351 from 1.8.0.202.
    This removed the requirement for Visual Studio 2010 redistributables, and updated it to 2017.
    Note: the latest version 1.8.0.371 was tested and found to have multiple issues

  • Corrected an issue with registration of 'Personal Device' modality within WEB-key. An error
    presenting as a Null Pointer error was corrected.

  • Corrected an issue with insertion of enrollment fingeprint images in some cases. This option
    is rarely used, but was causing and error in certain use cases.

  • Corrected an issue where the WEB-key Server would 'fail' upon query of a user's records after
    deletion of user biometric data, such as a fingerprint enrollment.

  • Corrected an issue with MobileAuth Face Positive enrollments where an errant database error was
    presented in the logs.

  • Corrected an issue where the WEB-key Client uninstall failed to complete an uninstall.

  • Fixed dual active browser handler issue and fixed the active WEB-key UI prompt after session expired

  • Fixed a Challenge Response enrollment issue in the database

  • Updated VMware virtual channel interface for version 3.3 and an issue with identifying the virtual
    environment type (VMware, Citrix, MS Remote Desktop).

    cannot coexist on the same system

    streamline reader installation, and removes a memory leak in that process

  • Updated communications coordination with the MobileAuth modailities, reducing wait times

  • Fixed WEB-key DB and version settings in configuration utility

  • Made changes to fix the issue specific to MobileAuth HTTPS push notification on Linux

  • Updated WEB-key License to support MySQL in IDaaS
